@Timmy, GRN needed .85/,86 and now in .87 they finally have conquered 1 single system, due to lack of mobility, or in short - jump gates. The conquering of Leeds was for a period of 1 entire expansion (.86). It does not sound stupid because the nature of jump holes is unclear - they may collapse, send you somewhere else - its foolish mistake to send an armada throught such a hole for 1 day...you gona need a lot of time, tests and maybe if all is well - to continue to send more ships - Exactly what happened during .85/.86 and now .87 from GRN side. Slow conquest but steady and successful.
Also dont forget the fact that GRN are now "New" in this area. They need to study the jump holes in Leeds more carefully and see where they can take them, what they can do from then on - while Bretonia on the other hand knows the whole information about them. Their ships can move throught the asteroid field even the Dunkirk - and successfully to bait and fight.
@Fixing gates - is impossible for 1 simple reason - hyperspace coordinates for a specific gate are known only by the House. Bretonia not only destroyed Newcastle and New London gates - they've wiped their data, making it impossible for GRN to restore it. You would be needing someone on the other side - bretonian from Queen's quarter who knows the coordinates to programm the newly built jump gate from Leeds ( if such is ever been built by GRN). Only then a clean way would be possible. Aside from that - jump holes remains an option.
Liberty is most advanced in Sirius, where "advanced" doesn't stand for ship quality but for quantity, technology, overall progress and stability of a House, even economical advantage, munition production and people. Liberty is with no doubt the best House with strongest military in this mod where its only opponent, with similar capabilities is Gallia.
Gallia only have multiple ships. But what about the House stability? All the things i've mensioned above, about liberty, does not count for Gallia. Do you know that 50% of the Gallic ppl dont want this war with Sirius? Do you know most of them are terrorised and threatened? All these fleets you see from Gallia, can very much stop the conquest if the king is ever been replaced....
There are many factors that lead the lore, while sadly ingame scenarios and battles can bearly scratch the surface of what really is going on in the mod history and what may happen.
