If it is like this, he will be a hardcore-stubborn Armed Forces officer.
And I must admit it is confusing also for me which player fraction would be the most fitting for such a character.

Could be the son of Mollys who joins the QCRF

Give him an Irish name, then he's got something to prove that he's loyal to the Crown.

Could be good RP, just my 2 cents.

The UOG could get involved in the RP, call him a traitor to his people "Your father, rest his soul, would be so ashamed of you." That sort of thing.

Analogy : The main character of Wing Commander (the Movie), being a Pilgrim, and therefore having to earn everyone's trust...
