I was hauling casualties and refugees of off planet Leeds, using the smugglers jumpgate for freighters around the backside of the planet..... So...I got my ship all decked out....Stabaline...MedStasispackthingamajigs.....Scientist to rp as Doctors...Pharma... and bunch of other stuff....and ONE unit of HumanOrgans.....
On my way to Detroit munitions to get light arms and blackmarket munitions, and LNS stops me...He is in a Brettonian gun boat, with a Navy ID Freelancer IFF. So, he says he has to scan me.....I say sure...Im part of the effort to help the resistance in Leeds....He says drop the Human Organs or Ill fire.....I say, Yea...gona be hard to do, it is parts of the last guy trying to get on board, mortar round came in real close, he got splatter along the rear hatch.....He says, drop it or I shoot, he says for me to read the description of the Human Organs and that he was allowed to shoot....shortly later he did, I managed to dock so my forward progress on that ship was not lost....but anyways...
He was right, by the rules, he can shoot me down for not complying to his order to drop the Human Organs.
It did not matter that he was flying a mix match ship/IFF/ID combo, or that I had a logical explanation to the human organs.
If you play for the blue message you will always lawyer your way to a kill.
If you play for RP the objective is different, both styles are acceptable ways of playing,
But, you have to consider that with the new scanners, you can see what kind of a ship you are coming up on, so if it of a Pirate line or house criminal line, you should be able to rp your way into a shootout or out off one with out having to look at a players ID.
My favorite ships to play are Freelancer ID and No or Neutral IFF to everyone, with few hostiles.
You would be doing a lot of reporting if you reported everyone who metagamed their way to a kill.
