It did not matter that he was flying a mix match ship/IFF/ID combo, or that I had a logical explanation to the human organs.
In this case, inrp-wise, you could consider him an 'undercover' LN ship, using a BAF ship (which i'm pretty sure under house laws is OK now without the need of license agreement since they're allies, but i could be wrong on that one). He uses the Freelancer IFF to mask what he really is. He should during the RP engagement announce that he is actually LN and has the authority to pursue you for the organs. If he doesnt, you can continue to treat him as a Freelancer, and take your chances if that is what you prefer. Its like an undercover cop, they stay undercover, but when they go to make an arrest, they still need to announce that they're a cop, or legally its nothing but thuggery equal to kidnapping.
Its the same if it were the opposite, if you see an LN IFF'd ship with a freelancer ID, he can make all the demands he wants they would simply be in violation of the server rules. You would not have to listen to him simply based on that, but you wouldnt be able to claim that inrp, you'd have to RP around the fact 'you don't trust his papers' or something like that. Thats another reason I don't like the curreint ID/IFF rule.
So at the very least militaries and police ought to REQUIRE the ID and IFF match, the ID being like a badge. Its easy to get a LN IFF, but the ID, as like a badge/ID, is the evidence of legal authority. No badge/ID, no proof of legal juridiction. In the real world anyone can work on a cop costume and pose as one, at least the official badge/ID is authenticated and usually only procurable via legitimate means.
This wouldnt make it against server rules to have an ID/IFF mismatch like mentioned above, just give you the ability to say 'i see your IFF indicator sir, but can i see your badge/ID?' and if none present, no authority to make demands as navy/police, and rp from there.
Maybe we just need to be able to hide and reveal ID's at will. So if you pirate, and someone accuses you of doing so outside your ID's ability, you can then reveal it.
