I just don't play the game Online(for the moment), I will wait for the next patch, Cause there is a major Balancing issue in it....
(You can own everyone with ONE single type of units...)

True, that does need balanced (especially the siege-ship spam), but there is a multitude of tactics that can stop it. Also, spamming combat ships to kill enemy fleets, also possible to stop. If they have 30 missile frigates and you have 30 of any ship, you can easily kill them. Same for if they had 30 Cobalts, or Siege Frigs. True, you'll take a beating, but you can destroy their entire fleet. Heck, I took out a pirate den when they had 75 normal frigs (equivilant of the Cobalts) 35 missile frigs, 30 of the stronger normal frigs, and 45 others, mixed types. I had around 50 ships, and 3 capitals. I lost around 35 ships and none of my capitals (not one even lost its shield) and killed all the defenses and capped the base..

In almost any game (minus Starcraft and Warcraft III) you can defeat a large ship/unit spam using tactics, you just have to take into account your ship's strength's and their weaknesses, and use ships based on those calculations. For example, Cobalts are fast, but have very short range. LRM Missile Frigates have very long range and medium speed. Therefor, when they attack with around 50 Cobalts and you have a smaller group of LRMs [lets say 20], you move into 4 seperate 'groups.' 1 group directly ahead of them, but at a decent range, one on each side at a longer range, then another by one of those sides. Once they attack you move that 4th group behind them. Now, whichever group they attack, after its dead, they have to move a long distance to attack the others. This allows your groups to all continue firing at all times, while they cannot. While the battle continues you can keep splitting those groups as your bigger ones die, so they must travel even more to get in range while you just relentlessly attack over and over.

There are many such strategies, and some very useful ones that involve capitals that you can use against unit spam, you just have to find them and practice them.
