At the current time, this is the only option I can see that will cause Igiss the least amount of trouble. If the Mollys were to become a full independent nation, it would probably be a shock to several factions, which means that Igiss would need to change up the Molly faction entirely.

This is my proposal: Begin talks with Bretonia, if we accept, we will turn Dublin into a temporary protectorate. This means that it will be governed by the UoG, but jointly policed and defended by the QCRF or the BPA. Essentially, the UoG would police Dublin as lawfuls, while the BPA/QCRF would stand in the background until something happens that is not good.

In many ways, this structure of Dublin would resemble that of Puerto Rico today.

Unfortunately, this is as close to independence that I see it for now. Perhaps, we will have a better chance at freeing Dublin the the future, but for now, no.

I can see the logic behind this, however. The Mollys would be freed up to attack the Corsairs, while the Brets can focus all efforts on taking back Tau-31 and driving out the Kusari. This is a political and militaristic bonus for both nations, despite the fact that the Brets would lose their hold on the lucrative gold mining in Dublin. What this will do to the Bret economy is unknown... If the economic losses outweigh the other benefits, I can't see the Brets giving up Dublin.
