This has happened to me many times. I don't see how this is a lag problem when somebody is completely still one moment and within a split-second they're 5k away and before I have a chance to blink a second time, they're gone. It's a relatively new issue for me, this never used to happen say a year ago. If it's lag-induced then I can only assume that a ship would be drifting or pinging back-and-forth before whooshing away at a ridiculous speed. If the other ship was sat still and then had a connection problem, surely a command would not be received by the server so they shouldn't really cruise off all of a sudden in the manner which they do. I also don't see how it can be a lag problem on my end when the ping command clearly shows me as having nil problems at that time.
As for the trade lanes, that's certainly an old bug. There is clearly a discrepancy somewhere but this is not new. I have to say though, advising people to not hit the lanes unless something comes is pointless given that stray gunfire and mines from the NPCs can disable them.
Information being sent from the player's end is being cut out (packet loss) and when it all comes in at once the server updates the ship's location, making it not warp, but suddenly "flash."
Like I said in the previous post, this has been happening to players further from the server than Europe for...ever, now that the new antiCheat and antiDDoS systems are in place there is a little more of this for everyone Welcome to my world! <3
