Pretty sure we had 16.67 refire class 9's in the early days of 4.85, but those were refitted into 8.33, mainly because of lag issues and performance, if I recall properly.

You recall wrong, that was probably 4.84. And yes, lag issues due to too many active projectiles is why this is not done.
