The question is, why does it fit this line? Large wings are made for planetary flight, I would assume. Why in the world would a long-range space explorer have large wings?

Maybe for the same reasons the rest of the line has? Planetary flight? You don't expect a fighter craft to stay in space at all times without landing anywhere after all, do you?

And the wings are one thing, the rest of it's features, texturing, cockpit, general shape also add to it fitting into that line.

After thinking a bit, no, I don't dislike this model. But again, there are other ships needing a replacement model more than the Spatial. Remember, we still got a Moldy Crow.
