After listening to her words, Robert started to lean sideways while he prompted himself against the tucked chair. A motion that he executed in an unwittingly slow yet elegant fluctuation of his body as his right hand then extended forth, suavely into the nothingness, followed by a delicate, circular motion of it which would end with the clicking resonance performed by two of his fingers as they twitched against each other.
While he performed this... unexpected and eccentric motion, every joy was vented away from his insides, only so that they would be profaned by the temptations of opportunity and ambition
" I shall consider your... " he suddenly paused as he bit his lips and closed his eyes, imitating a gesture done by a once oblivious man about to realize and undoubtedly regret the consequences of the endeavour he would embark on. " ... Overtly astute, benevolent and... undoubtedly inexorable and warming compassion you embrace me with, as a permission to take a seat along side you. " he continued, as he quickly assumed a straight position, only so that he would draw the chair out, and sit on it.
A significant number of seconds found at the expense of both of their times were mercilessly deported away towards the endless, excruciating plains of nothingness and nonexistence as Robert made it a certainty to seek comfort and relaxation in the chair he occupied.
But right afterwards the last second was casted away, Robert leaned forth towards Susan, glaring into the depth of her mesmerizing eyes as a subtle, deceitful and defiant smile carved on his face. Subtle enough not to have its expression employed as a vulgarity, but evident enough to allow the release of warm, yet slithering words.
" I assume you are well familiar with the policies of our... " he then suddenly retracted, as if he wanted to erase the last word he exuded from the brinks of existence. " ... my... fraternity. And that is: " We shall seek prosperity in any way possible as long as the benefits of our actions outweigh the consequences "
He then retracted backwards even more, occupying a more comfortable position.
" And unfortunately... in these... lugubrious and ludicrous days, cheri, a favour is an expensive commodity which I can only afford to provide to the member of my fraternity... Unless... gleefully persuaded otherwise through some... auditory convenient propositions " he casted out tactfully, obviously treating Susan not like the member of the fraternity she once were, but nothing more than a possible business partner.
Such was the slithering duality of the Commonwealth
