Doc, Jaden, Medicine and Some Rest (Myself and leonardo de tigre only)

The entire time, Jaden just sat there still with her head on his shoulder as she listened quite intently about Doc's wife. She smiled as she heard how Doc met her, chuckled a bit, maybe even a bit jealous, at the mention of his wife being a decent cook, since Jaden's condition made any attempt at open-flame cooking a very uncomfortable experience, and sighed contently as Midori really did show how she missed her lover very much.

But when Doc got to the more saddening parts was when Jaden frowned to herself. The fact that Midori had commented on Doc's work ethics should've already been considered an alarming sign. "I'm... sorry to hear that, Senor. Back in my day, I couldn't stand to stay in my house all week while Papito flew out to earn. Sometimes I would go out to play with my amigos and amigas in my neighborhood, but my condition limited my ability to play with them, and a few even looked down on me for it. So usually, I'd smuggle myself aboard my Papito's Titan so I could fly with him, even if he'd specifically tell me not to. It would be an understatement to say I had caused Papito a lot of headaches back then, heheh.

"... And shame would be a very weak word to describe Midori's distress at being unable to bear anymore children, Senor... I can tell you, the feeling of inferiority you get from being sterile is... almost indescribable." She let out a deep sigh before continuing, "You try and you try for several years, and time and again you say to your lover you still haven't conceived... It's always... a heart-breaking experience to see your lover hang his head and sigh in disappointment for your inadequacy... your uselessness from being barren."

She placed a palm on Doc's hand and laced her fingers through his, gently grasping it. After a short pause, she shuffled her head on his shoulder a bit to look at Doc as she whispered, "Doc... What're the chances my operation will be successful? I've set up far too many castles in the clouds, only to have them quickly get shot down. Could you please be entirely honest with me?"
