In a way, I can see his point.

The only reason I can see ScornStar's point, however, is the fact that there is a general belief that all battles that don't end in deaths is an incomplete battle. If a battleship uses cruise to retreat, or if a fighter does the same, it can be for the sake that they want to stay alive.

Now, the problem with this is the fact that no one will follow it. Instead, they will just shield run, return, and start shooting the living daylights out of the other people.

At the current time, the rule as good as is.

Real life is different from this game, mate. That is why we can't do things like that.
