Today I was passing through Cambridge in my bomber, the JM|-Golden.Tempest-[R] doing some exploration and admiring the lovely sight of the Grasmere Ice Cloud.

Right after exiting the lane speed, while on my way from the planet Cambridge itself to HMS Norfolk, I noticed two contacts on my draidis. A classical DL Series BWT, callsigned Herr_Horst, and a rather aged Firefly-class Civilian Transport, callsigned Dan1. What a "creative" naming convention. *seems disgusted*

Either way...

They were in the process of entering the lane way leading to Omega-3 jump gate. Something was wrong with their transponders. They probably tampered with those. After preliminary scans I also checked their cargo holds, and both of those were full of black market munitions. That explained the funny IFF readings.

I followed them both...

They broke off the lanes and turned for the jump hole to Omega-5. Since they were leaving Bretonia I thought I might help them... in their passing... within one or the other meaning of this word. Thus I told them I can provide the escort... poor fools obviously believed me, as they even awaited my arrival. After we all jumped I waited till we get as far from the jump hole and the Corsair base located near as possible.

Then it was time to change the approach I thought.. we were no longer within the reach of aunty Carina's warm loins after all. I told them that the escort I offered is not exactly free of charge and that they have to pay me ten million credits if they wish to keep their souls contained within those ugly sacks of meat and bone.

However...

In all their sillyness, they refused to stop or to pay and thus, the fireworks began. Unfortunately for me, both transports were equipped with anti-fighter weapon arrays. That didn't stop me from anihilating one of those fools. The other I damaged badly enough, but sadly, his turrets drained my shields and at the same time torpedo I fired exploded quite near and managed to ravage the hull of my bomber. At the end, one got blasted and one managed to blow Golden Tempest out of the sky and the favour still awaits being returned... it will not wait for long though... I assure you. *evil grin*

Now, for the records, I upload the comm logs and guncam picture of one of those smugglers getting his lungs full of dancing flames and his entrails dispersed in space along with the rest of his ship. It's quite pretty as I managed to captivate the moment of explosion itself... *smiles in delight*

I already got myself a new bomber, the old one I got rid of, saving only the transponder. Also, considering that one must learn from one's mistakes, I managed to fix the calibration on the new torpedo launcher. It should work more efficiently now and next time I won't taste the tip of my own sword again as I did this time. For this, and this only... prolonged a bit the life of whoever sits in the cockpit of Dan1.

*stops for a moment, apparently mad at himself for letting his prey get away, but then lightens up and continues*

I also have a little... design and construction project going on... but that I believe it is a topic for another occasion.
