I found myself at Planet Los Angeles with time on my hands. I had just completed a diamond run from Solarius and a cargo full of Luxury Goods was itching to take a ride to New London. That was fine with me. I finished off my shrimp tacos and headed shipside. There was an Outcast Tridente in Magellan, so I stopped and gave him a mil out of the goodness of my heart. Poor bums. Kensington did take a while to wire me my advance, though, so he took out about half my shield while I was waiting.
I'm gonna have to start carrying more cash. I blew the last of my pocket change on tacos and beer, the first of which I'm beginning to regret.
As I passed through Magellan I ran by a Council BS which put me in mind of our CEO's idea to begin trade into Rousillon.
I picked up Gin at Planet New London and headed to Cardiff, thinking about trying out some runs to the Council system.
At Cardiff I traded the Gin for Beryllium and headed on to Rheinland. There was little to remark upon during my flight to New Berlin, except I locked myself in the john and began carpet bombing every last pleasant memory I had of Los Angeles. I then took the mains offline and ejected the warp coil. Damn those tacos and their succulent seafood filling!
From New Berlin I hopped over to the Ring and picked up Sidearms which I flew back through Bretonia to Rousillon.
The way there it wasn't so bad. I got through the minefield and on to Battleship Pamiers without a problem. But when I was hauling Hydrogen Cyanide on the return trip through Newcastle a Gallic gunboat and a bunch of GRN snubs attacked me, making it very difficult to successfully reach and dock with a tradelane.
I thrusted away and flew like a crazed dolphin through all those confounded rocks and was able to enter the tradelane and jet away. However, they drained my shield four times and reduced my hull by about a third more than one time.
I made it safely to New Berlin, but this leg of the trip in Newcastle, crossing vicious GRN patrols, turned me off of the idea entirely. I don't think there's enough profit in it to make it worth our while.
So, peaceful skies, fellow traders! Hurry along now, because after that run I'm about to get pissed out of my mind.
