Log 3 – Book 2
“Log three of…book two. This log is over the Lyoko; it’s my main ship and it’s my most useful ship. The Lyoko is an upgraded version of a Hathor gunboat that has been refitted and reworked several times in its life. It’s my pride and joy of the Order, many say I treat it as a kid, well I have a reason for such. The ship has a learning AI built into it, and by learning I don’t mean the kind that is just smart and what not. This kind of AI watches over all conversations in and around the ship and watches people’s reactions and emotions. It thus far has been learning quickly as well on how to use those emotions itself; as happiness and sadness, most of the main emotions. The AI is linked up to whole ship and as such can connect to any part of the ship.”

“Anyways moving back to the Lyoko. The ship uses reinforced hull and heavy armor that uses special metal’s to keep its body sealed from the vacuum of space. This armor uses steel, titanium, iron and other metals to buffer against attacks that are thrown at the ship. There are stainless steel supports in the ship that hold up all six decks with their combine weight. The walls have struts that are pushed against them to keep the wall from pushing inwards when hit. Another thing to note is that there is an inch of pocket space between the hull and armor that is filled with springs that are used as shockwave-resistant buffers and to stop the shaking of the ship faster than it would normally take.”

“The bridge of the Lyoko is fitted with heavy electronics that are embedded throughout the bridge and combat center. These consoles hold all the programs the Lyoko has been though and there are several data-banks spread over the bridge. The bridge always has about five to six crew members operating there the whole time in case of the emergency that the data needs to be wiped. There is a glass wall in the back of the room and a door in the center of it. In this small room is a lone table and a few chairs with no data-banks or consoles in it. This room is the combat center, used as the place where the crew and others plan out everything.”

“Below the bridge is the crew quarters. This ship was fitted to hold about thirty people tops within; and to allow enough moving room as well. The quarters are fitted with lockers, bunk-beds and computers/consoles used for the crew to store their own logs and other things such as searching the neural net. The other part of this deck has the Cargo bay in the far front of this deck. On the left side of this deck is the medical room and on the right side is the engineering compartment. Not much to say about the other three rooms as the majority of this deck is the quarters for the crew.”

“Under the second deck is the engine and reactor rooms. This deck is the only one that reaches into the wings of the Lyoko to reach the engines on both wings. The main engine runs directly off the reach while the two on the wings run off smaller reactors found on each wing. Each of the three reactors are linked up to a single core. This core is centered near the back of the deck and is encased in lead room. The core runs off a singularity called Jadewall; named after the second in command captain of the Lyoko. This singularity uses X-ray energy but on a very small scale. Normally X-ray energy is lethal in the right amounts but due to the very small percent that is being generated, most of its radiation is absorbed into its lead case. Due to the size of the ship, two of these cores were needed. The backup core is a normal H-fuel drive compartment; which is in the center of the deck. The engines of the ship are a tri-engine setup, using three engines rather than just two or one. These engines are most online day and night and are only offline when moored or fuel is almost empty.”

“The fourth deck of the ship is the AI core room. This room is mostly covered wall to wall in wires and pipe-lines that span most of the room. In the far back side of the room is the data storage room where the AI stores most of its data. The storage however is closed in by bullet-proof glass and a keycard is required to enter the room. In the center of the bridge core of the AI which is also encased in glass and requires another kind of keycard. The AI used to be a NEVADA D-3 class AI which was only originally used as the targeting system. Upgraded beyond its old standards, the AI was renamed Lyoko, after the ship it is housed in. the AI is almost self-aware save for the fact that it tends to remain quiet most of the time. The AI by now is linked to most of the ship, as well as the core as the crew found it was safer that an AI was running the core rather than a human crew.”

“Next is the fifth deck is the weapons center. This room requires up to eleven people within it during combat. The first eight members deal with firing the weapons on the hull of the Lyoko. Two members are the reloading squad for the weapons as they cool and recharge the weapons during combat. The final person in the room is the weapons commander, who tells who to target what. In the near center of the room is the Knockstall. This weapon is an anti-boarding weapon which emits shockwaves into the ship to prevent capture. While this causes major damage to the ship, it also makes sure that boarding parties can’t take anything from the ship.”

“Finally last deck of the ship is the engineering deck. Here this deck is hooked up to all other decks; as engineers are able to get behind the walls of the other decks to repair damage. This deck also has access to the core of the ship as well however the door is fully sealed and requires a passcode to enter. This deck also is the access room to the fuel chambers of the engines as well. This deck is fully watched by security settings and only the engineers and a few others have access to this deck.”

“Wow…that was a lot to say just about the inside of the ship…and armor that is to. I guess had a lot to say…oh well…” She stands and turns the recorder off, uploading the log before flopping onto the bed thinking for a bit of time. Aelita was bored and there no dough about it
