Such a wipe is very drastic and essentially should be filed away as "The Big Red Button" and kept there until the very utter end. In the past I've gone into a bit of length about that topic and never dismissed it as an option. But it's an option that should wait until a threshold is broken. This community has endured worse but some tweaking might be needed to address bases.
