@Kazinsal well usually people have a tendency to criticise more than saying good things. If things work ok or great, people don`t usually come around to say how great that thing is.
Thus there will always be people that will not agree with an idea, for PoBs there are many people that do this and even tho I have a PoB I tend to agree that the PoBs do present an issue.
It is hard to take down a core 4 PoB as this requires a vast number of players which might be hard to get in different regions of Sirius. Even if some PoBs really make sense inRP, some of them put up a challenge for doing certain things like the one that is guarding the entry point to the mine field in New York for Alaska.
I know it is difficult and that it requires alot of teamwork to build a big base, but some of these bases ruin the game fun. You can`t go in Alaska if you are an indie and you don`t use the LNS tag, it is hard to pirate miners in the fields due to the fact that now they can dock on asteroid miners or quickly run in the defense grid of a PoB.
People do have activity with the PoBs supplying them and so on but I`m not sure how much activity is gained from my point of view: I go on a PoB, buy my ores and I`m off. Before the PoBs you had to ask a friend or even wait for a miner to become free to work for you.
A way of decreasing the server load would be in my opinion to increase the tick the bases do a couple of minutes, maybe even more which would partially cause the bases to be a bit more vulnerable but it should greatly decrease the time used by the PoBs.
