I wanted to be a pilot, to serve the Republic, but I wasn't fit for the Navy and went for a career in accounting instead. I've built myself a comfortable life, I'm married and have two children and the mortgage is nearly paid off, but lately I have felt like I was missing out on something. My wife calls it a midlife crisis, *cough*, but last year I finally persuaded her to let me sign up for piloting courses and here I am, ready to prove that it is never too late for a citizen to get out there in space and make a difference.
