Discovery endgame gameplay, aka "How do you max out in Disco?"

Sup.
We all differ, when it comes to what we seek in Discovery. Some people come here for the RP, be it the more serious forum stuff or a much more relaxed ingame environment, but as I see more new people ingame ask about this, I realized just how hard it is to answer. How exactly do you ''max out'' in Disco? What is our endgame content?

Obviously, the biggest, most pricey ships aren't. It is a newbie trap many people fall into from the very beginning. The moment you undock from Erie, you see other shuttles like your own, the sign of a starting player, but right in front of you is Battleship Gettysburg, as if telling you that "You now fly that little thing, but this! This right there is what you will end up flying!" Now, not all people get influenced it, but it does sort of set the tone of what the person would strive for. They see these Rank 50's flying around in their snubs and would never think that with just how many new shipclasses Disco adds that in the end, we are pretty much like the vanila servers, where most people focus on fighter combat.

To the vets here, you have also probably come and gone and returned once more, having to start over from scratch perhaps. At which point would you say that you just stopped and went "Yeah, I am fully back now. I have all I need."?

How would you describe YOUR endgame content?





For me, my answer is pretty simple.

I reach my endgame level whenever I know I have access to three things: A combination of ingame experience and knowledge of the current ingame happenings to know where to go in order not to get bored. When I have enough ingame wealth so that I can easily set up the ship of my preferred choice in order to join in the fun. When I have people I regularly play with in order to share that experience.

Basically, I know that I have maxed out in Disco, when someone on skype can tell me: "Hey, Spaz, there's a fun little fight/RP going on in X, want to join?" and I can easily reply "Yeah, no problem, give me 5 minutes to set up a character for it and let's go."
