If you claim "I eat you", I will flatly state *you see the escape pod fly away without any chance to catch it*.
Your version of what you achieve (which would be one of the most brutal fates imaginable) will always be in sharp contrast to what the other party allows to happen.

I can already say: shoot as many of my ships, you will never put your teeth into any of my chars.

That's likely the problem of that approach. Hardly anybody will want his char to be killed like that.
