Marcus was rather baffled but what he just heard. Of course, much of it didn't make sense to him and mostly he didn't exactly know how to do it... but after a few moments he started speaking in a lesser tone "Sir... I can explain myself. I will! And i can do that letter too, right here if you want me to, but i can't commit myself to working for you. I'm a Colonial Officer and I can't work for someone other than my own superiors and the Republic. I don't know if this is what you wanted to hear, but it's my only answer."

He then backed a few steps, looking down into the ground and waiting for the captain to answer as if he'd be on death row.
