@ Mister_X
I do not see this post as a suck up, I see it as a Personal statement and is a example of somebodies values and I kudos Tonto for being brave enough to put his personal values up on a website where (chances are) it will be slandered, insulted, and torn up. Personally, I have opinions about this topic, I choose not to put it into the Lion's Den because I know I personally do not have tolerance for that kind of thing.

Now onto the Original Post:

Tonto, I really do see where your coming from really I do. Though I would enjoy seeing some people in this community stripped of their Troll Play Toys. And people who do nothing but lob insults from the stands, instead of standing up and running into The Colosseum Pit that is the Discovery Admins/Dev Playground (I will clarify this in a few lines) and trying to help the show not suck they just sit there a rip on it and make it suck more for those who are trying to enjoy it. I do not think that it would work simply because i feel that there would be at least one member of the community that would do this, fail, and then go al psycho-path and begin a "Come hell or high water" campaign to take down Disco because his toys (that he could probably power trade to get back in less than a week) are gone gone gone. However assuming everyone here is (mostly) mentally stable I think the likely scenario would be rage quitting followed by him Q_Q'ing on the forums for a few months till either A: Admin/Devs return the ships or B: He gives up and moves on. Trust me when I say that I wish this could work, but I just don't think I would.

Why do I say "The Colosseum Pit that is the Discovery Admins/Dev Playground"

In the days of Ancient Rome, The Colosseum was a magnificent place, a place to go and watch The Arts, Trials, and Gladiator fights. It was one of the first what I would call to as large scale public recreational and entertainment hubs. I liken it to a Mall or hell an Internet Forum. There were Men Women and Children of all ages. All gathered to enjoy a Play, or a Mock Battle. Now in Rome, they had a thing called Gladiatorial Combat, which pitted a Gladiator against some challenge, be it a wild animal or another Gladiator. Now to this forum, every day we the people who enjoy playing Discovery log into the Forums, we see what people are saying, and acknowledge it in some form albeit it looking at it or replying to posts, but then, on occasion a marvelous spectacle is announced "Attention patrons! If you will gather into the arena a Admin is about to be set out against a Challenge!!!" ( an Admin/Dev makes a post on the forums) we swarm the thread read it over, and then are taken in shock, that this is happening and begins hurling insults, we dislike what is about to happen because "It will suck" or it will be "The End of Disco". So before the fight even starts ( IE: Coding/Implementing/Preparing) the community is shooting it down. So not only does the person have to deal with the challenges faced in the arena(modding) they now have to endure distractions that could side-track them. Then, when the plan flops because the Admin Dev has lost total faith and has said "Screw it", the community uses it as fuel to say "We told you so".

How does all of that ^^^^ relate to the original post?

It’s simple really, you want a better show? Make suggestions, do something. Not "ShipX is broke Fix Noa Plz" Say something like "Hey I have found ship X has Z problem, maybe you could do A,B, or C. It may fix the problem." if you’re not a Modeler. If you are, all the better do something like "Ship X is broken here is what I have considered could be done ( Insert Technical Ship Modeling words here)" Saying stuff like "Fix Nao" Doesn't help any one's situation at all it does is make it clear something is broken but if Devs do not know what is broken then they cannot fix it.

Rant over.

Sent me a Comm? Haven't received a reply in a reasonable time span? Sorry! Post here and I'll get back to you asap!
