Nerfing these huge ships will,for sure destroy the fact that they survived in the Omicrons with good defense to counter the threat and will give rise to the question "If they had no defense or the capability to defend themsleves from the nomad attacks and the frequent threats that they face,why and how did they survive for so long and still continue to survive in there?

After humanity experienced a whopping 800 years of never getting attacked by a hostile alien life form, it's entirely plausible that such expensive and militaristic methods were never required to defend Freeports, bases open to all in the spirit of hospitality.

"Never required"

But required now.Since,both of their most common freeports are in places that are prone to nomad attacks and other piracy activities.

The only Freeport with any persistent Nomad threat is Freeport 11 in Omicron Delta. See also: Haste's post above.
