So recently I reinstalled Disco out of nostalgia and made a ship from the money I had on an old account I had laying around. The server population is lower that's okay, but what really got me feeling annoyed was the disproportion between lawfuls and unlawfuls.
See, back in the older days whenever you flew between two houses you were bound to meet at least someone unlawful. Well maybe not on the first trip, maybe not on the second, but you won't have a day where there won't be a single pirate on the lanes. And if you picked a hot spot like maybe the California lane you'd be guaranteed some interaction.
Though from what I saw in the past few days was nothing but transports minding their own business and trading and capital ships. The few unlawfuls I met were 2 Corsair gunboats in Leeds minding their own business and speaking russian, a scimitar in New York and a few unlawful capital ships above Manhattan. Compare that to the amount of lawful ships I've seen - dozen of capital ships, few dozen of fighters and a plethora of traders on the lanes minding their own business and making credits.
With such a disproportion obviously something's wrong with the system that balances the trio - pirate, law, trader. Why else would there be an abundance of two and nearly no trace of the third?
The lack of pirates kills the activity of a lot more than just the pirates. Why log my navy patrol, bounty hunter, etc if there is nothing to shoot? Have we reached the end game where we just RP_RP on the forums and not have fun ingame?
