Why does he seem that nervous... he must know more! I guess it's my turn... Joshua thought.
Joshua stood up in the room behind the mirror wall and whispered something to the guard at the door. He nodded and exited. Joshua followed him out of the room.
Whitacre was at his wits' end, Burlington seemed too scared to spill the beans about that box. The door to the interrogation room opened, Joshua entered with a bottle and two glasses in one hand, nodding to Whitacre.
"Hey, Jerry, why not get some tea? It's break time for you now, I think."
Whictacre understood and left the room, leaving Joshua with Burlington. Joshua pulled a small table and a folding chair from the corner of the room, put down the bottle and glasses on the table in front of Burlington and sat down.
Poor guy, he really seems overwhelmed by all of what's going on...
Joshua began to speak in his usual, polite way.
"G'day Mr Burlington, my name is Joshua. I totally agree with Jeremy, you deserve a fair treatment, even as a suspect."
Joshua opened the bottle and poured a bit of the golden fluid in both glasses.
"Here. I hear you guys like that Dublin Whiskey. That should help you calm down."
The Sergeant took a sip of his one after he handed the Molly the other glass. Joshua crossed his legs in the most relaxed way he could and continued.
"You know, I think we both should put our cards on the table. I will tell you a bit of what we know and you will do the same for me. Deal?"
As the Molly continued to look at him in a slightly uncertain way, he began with his part.
"Alright. You see, we recovered that box you were talking about. And, what we found in it seems related to another crime. A murder. That's why you are arrested right now.
As you claim to be innocent, it is only good for you if you tell me something in order to lift the suspicion on you. Did you look into the box? And I need to know everything you know about that Templar."
Joshua took another sip and waited for Burlington's answer. I hope my suspicion is correct... that Constable I talked to before entering the room hopefully got the message to the forensics. We need to investigate the wreck for further evidence...!
