InRP I would assume that only the Houses and some other Factions would have the capability to 'destroy' Bases. I am sure that if we allowed Gunboats the ability to 'destroy' Bases then somebody would say 'I don't fly GBs so why can't I destroy them with Fighters instead'?
There has to be, at some point, a final cut off from this capability otherwise all Bases would probably be gone within a week. I can see that there will be a few Bases less within the next few weeks as people will find an excuse to destroy them. I feel sorry for the people who want to build a new one as now a level 1 (with shield) is so brittle you could sneeze at it as you flew past and it would fall to bits.
5 BSs (with 3 Cerbs each) can kill a Level 1 Base (with shield) in just under 12 minutes. How in hell are those people ever going to be able to protect their Base 24 hours a day, let alone when they go for a meal/log off for a couple of hours?
I know that there are people who would be happy with all Bases destroyed. The excuse that they all block JHs or Gates is completely a non-argument. Some people want to build things within this Game (see something for their time played) others just want to blow things up, whether it is other Players ships or Bases. This Game should be about the enjoyment for everybody not a Group of Individuals with a like mind to blow things up.
