From my experience, these kind of event mediator people ALWAYS show up, just a few months before a server's death.

I swear... it's when you realize that things don't happen naturally anymore, and everything seems like a chore.

Final nail, I swear. Make note of this.

Not every experience guarantee's that its a golden rule.
I think what you speak of is because those realized that the server is dying so they took action (which failed) hence it looks like it lead to that death of server in the first place.
But this is not the case here as i personally don't believe the server is dying and don't consider this a remedy but something for all of us to enjoy.
