Good piracy RP is the one you get paid and are not shot at.
There are few types of traders. Those who do not mind RP can chat with pirate for hours without calling backup. Then there are those who simply want to be over with this faster, so they can make money faster. And then there are traders, who are unwilling to stop and comply at all, or only do that once they are down to 10% hull or so.
There are also different type of pirates. Though, more types than I care to write.
In short, pirate and trader interactions are based on the attitude and past experiences. While flying my LH char, I had many encounters, both good and bad, both worse and better.. Then there were best and worst encounters. I had interesting talks with indies, unofficial groups as well as official faction members. I had unpleasant experience with all three above too.
Piracy is dynamix experience, where trading usually is not, because while trading, you are pirated less times compared to times you reach destination without encountering pirate.
While pirating, you are not always guaranteed to be paid.
So all in all, piracy is bigger time waste than trading. And you can't earn that much money. With LH~ char, I earned 200M over 3 weeks. With trader char, I do that in 2 days.
So please remember, pirating is not profitable and thus, don't be afraid to encounter a pirate. Paying small portion of your daily profit is so little and is part of the game.
If there were no pirates, lawfuls would have nothing to do, and then, traders wouldn't need to trade to get lawful capships. This is a cycle that we are all part of.
