One thing that could be looked into is to not allow insta-heal on death. You die all your items reset to 5 percent of their total hit value. (things that are lost are lost). This will also make sure that even if you lose a fight, the winner is not going to get away scott free. Any damage they sustain, they have to pay for as well. This way people will care if they need to kamazee all fights or back off if a critical hit has been administered..

I have no problem with general context of the above post. I do have a problem with the (things that are lost are lost) part. The reason for this is that certain people will abuse this, to cause grieve. They will purposely sub-target expensive parts of the ship and destroy them before destroying the ship.

For instance a Cloaking Device costing 450-500 million will be targeted on Capital Ships. In this instance the repair/replacement bill for the Capital Ship can be more expensive than the actual ship when you take into account the Hull Damage, the loss of other weapons/systems and the cost of replacing the Cloaking Device.
