Oh trust me, I'm done complaining. And I'm not switching, I'm just not going to play. My main character depended on its BS scanner, and I accepted the power nerf, but not this.
This does benefit traders, since no pirate is going to pay 200+ million for 3 extra K of range and a power nerf on top.
But I think the lane pirates should be happy too, you now only have a 3k margin under a trader using a BS scanner, as opposed to 9k. I can see most traders selling their BS scanners for the 75mil an NPC base will give them for it, accepting 3k less and buffing their power to go back to having better defenses, since that 3k margin is no longer as likely to save them. (yes you will still lose out on traders with them if you sit on a lane within 20k of a station...you can still pick longer lanes and go farther out)
For me that 9k was important for my stealth attack. Nerfing my wings yet again just means I won't be bothering, not be forced to change my gameplay. I'll change it alright, to something else altogether. I'll never quite enjoy that char as much now and that kills the whole thing for me. I take this as a direct message to people like myself. Well if I'm so cancerous, you won't have to deal with anymore of my horrible interactions.
Instead of posting new threads every other day about how cancerous a decision it was, or calling everyone involved a bunch of names in anger, I'm going to let my sentiment come out via my lack of gameplay and activity in general. Since my char has peaked, I'm not going to keep playing feeling I'm lacking something I had, its just not as fun now, especially when it seems it was done to appease people that only play as traders or bomber pirates. I'm tired of the inconsistency on the scanner issue. That's my 2 cents, you'll get no more complaints out of me.
