Well, the raven's claw was much more powerful in the previous version. It had 2 thrusters and way more energy. you could mount all codenames + tizonas, and your energy didnt go down.
Now, it is more belanced. the 8 weapon mounts are of no use if you mount 8 weps, because you would run out of energy after a few shots. And thats ok. I use 6 weapon slots for energy weps and 2 for missiles.
It is not invinvible. I was able to take down thalons and raven's claws with my Rheinland bomber. And that ship flies like a drunken brick and has half the weapon mounts than those ships. (In fact, there is no ship i cant take down with a RH bomber. Even the slipstream from the 4.78.1, altough it took me 45 minutes)
On the other side, the original VHFs are underpowered for the actual version of the mod. Those ships should be rebalanced. they could use more armor, as all house mk2 fighters are over 12000 armor. And a bit more energy. I remember that mounting 4 codenames on a Sabre was a bad idea because you ran out of energy in like 5-7 seconds of shooting..
Newb, if you want to choose other ship than the thalon, take a look at the MkII house fighters. They are heavily armored (12000 - 14600 i think), have great firepower and are quite maneuverable.
