Begining of the end

[Dab]

Alpha landed one something and groaned in protest.

Keiran: Get in here! He said as he pulled Alpha into the second seat.

He started flying away from the planet half-dead passenger behind him.

Keiran: Here is a tip, Let Dab deal with the supernatural people. Just hold on, we will be at Buffalo soon, they can fix you up. The Ableben should be here in a day or so.

Alpha: Rafel was here as well.

Keiran: Finally, some good news.

Alpha started a chuckle that turned into a choking cough.

Keiran: Hey hold on, you die and Dab will kill me.

Keiran: Here are the nomads hold on.

Alpha could faintly feel the sharp turns and spins the ship was doing through the battlefield, but the front seat preventing him from seeing what was actually happening. He could see countless nomad fighters flying all around, some slaughtering the local population, some engaging Navy ships. Suddenly there was a circle of light around the ship and it took a minute for Alpha to realize they had entered the tradelane.

Keiran: Alright just a couple more minutes until we get to Buffalo.

Dab: Ah so thats who it is.

Dab had been wondering who it was that he had been sensing out there, the one who had been even more powerful than Kristy. But though he could find out who she was "talking" to he couldn't figure out what she was saying, or his responses.

The comm speaker in his room crackled.

Captain Neimann: Sir we are about to arrive at New Berlin.

Dab: Very well I'll head up to the bridge. I want a request for an audience with Admiral Kreig the minute we are in range.

Captain Niemann: Yes sir.

Raf'el's head jerked back in pain.

Phantom: Sir are you alright?

But he didn't answer the Phantom. His head continued to spasm in pain and his mouth was open in a silent scream.

Due to the unexpectedness and vastness of death he hadn't been able to prepare his mind against the flood of emotions, and pain that was flashing through his mind due to the crash of the Liberty Dreadnaught on Manhatten's surface. Eventually his head motions ceased and he fell back into unconscionceness leaving the Phantom with a look of confusion on his face.

Phantom: What the hell was that?

But Raf'el remained asleep not hearing the man's query. Distantly he could hear the whine of a shuttle's engines. He decided to try to stop thinking about it and worked on getting Raf'el to the window and onto the shuttle.
