Quote:What about using the LSF ID? They can uphold the law, but they can be played "a bit out of the box".
I didn't actually think about LSF ID, but if we were to use this deserted Carrier idea that I really like, I see three problems with it, that LPI ID sort of overcomes:
1) Vigilantes deserted from LN or just normal civilian people with LSF IDs don't really fit the theme, but this is not the biggest problem and can be temporarily used until/if we get the official ID.
2) Getting LSF IFF on a ship that is already restarted and in use is a pain in the backside. Getting a LPI IFF on a LN restarted ship is pretty easy.
3) This (don't know if this has already been fixed)
Quote:You said you can't kill the ship after it dropped the contraband; as this is a server rule, you won't be able to circumvent it with any ID or RP.
That was badly phrased, let's try again. What I meant is that if you fly a transport with ludacris amounts of contraband (for example a Liner filled up with Cardamine, I was thinking of 3,600+ cargo), you'd get blasted without an excuse. The ID is a problem when you want to enforce this in-game, because if someone feels like he got caught and just wants to drop their contraband and does so, we can't really blast him.
So if you fly with, say, 2K of cardamine, you will be kindly asked to drop your cargo and blasted only if you don't comply. If you fly something bigger than a Freelancer ID can handle and have contraband, you get blasted anyway. Some cargos, for example Slaves (this is not really the best example, because Lolberty exports them) will not be under this rule for obvious reasons.
Quote:How about making it a "bad cop" department, run in the style of Steven Seagal
This was my first concept, but people who I talked to didn't think this was a good idea, especially when I mentioned the term "lawful pirate".
