Thing kept a straight face at his reaction to what she had said, "In this world, violence and war is what makes people thrive. I don't understand it, but most of the Rogues don't know any other way. I was lucky in the sense I had a family when I was child. I was cared for and looked after." She shrugs sadly and finished her drink, nodding a 'please' when he offered to refill her glass. After being quiet for a few moments, she eventually spoke again.
"If she succeeded, I wouldn't have to keep living this life. I don't know what happens after death... But the Rogues would be rid of me, and I.... I would have, I just want..." She didn't want to finish her sentence, she didn't want him to think badly of her.
When she spoke again, her voice was shaky, she was struggling to keep her emotions in check but she kept her voice low and spoke slowly to relay a sense of steadiness."As it is, my life is theirs. I play out how they want it to be done... Even this..." She raised her glass slightly "This drink, and the fact I've said far too much, has the potential to get me killed..... It was meant to be strictly business."
She shook her head and fell silent, seeming to be lost in thought.
