Monsieur Jackson, it is strange seeing yet another Libertonian apply for a position in the Armed Division. Although as such you will not be able to take a seat in the Senat, the Commandants tell me a few more hands out in the Taus will be useful. You seem to have much to learn, Aspirant. Do not fail us.
Et un autre foreigner ... well Colonial, your patriotism is admirable. Deemed unfit for a formal military, you seek to join a group considered friends by your nation. A ship doesn't really need to be piloted by a physically fit person though - so long as you're mentally stable, you should do fine here.
In your time as Aspirants, both of you will undergo some basic tactical and logistical training, and your determination will be tested. Bonne chance.
General Logarus,
Unione Corse Armed Command
"You see what your knowledge tells you you're seeing. ... how, what you think the universe is, and how you react to that in everything you do, depends on what you know. And when that knowledge changes, for you, the universe changes. And that is as true for the whole of society as that is for the individual. We all are what we know, today. What we knew yesterday, was different; and so were we."
- James Burke, The Day the Universe Changed (1985)
