The Xenos are a different kind of poor, almost like US Revolutionaries/Free French poor. We have our own guns, they have their deficits, but the they are ours. The Xenos d have any capability of mass production, unfortunately.
True story, especially considering the 'ol mass production 'o our own ships. Why I've always argues amongst our folks that if we did have a vessel of our own it would likely be a hot rodded Eagle. Tweak the reactor to burn a bit hotter, rip off some armor to reduce the overall mass some and voila, you've a ship that's half on fire but doing what we need it to do.
