Firstly, that water wasn't about to be shipped of to a third world country in Africa if people didn't chuck a bucket of water over themselves. Secondly the point of it all is to raise attention so that more money and therefore research can go into finding a cure for this disease which is being mostly ignored by the big pharmaceutical companies because it's not worth their while to invest a lot of money into it.
