Toji, Please watch the video I linked. Donating money quietly isn't making the disease public, and getting the message spread. Had someone donated it quietly, people like Charlie Sheen whom you used above probably wouldn't have donated it. The point is not the water. The point is to raise awareness publicly, with different means. Along with the above, check out Patrick Stewart's one. Very well done as well.
