Pirates and Rheinland

Oh please, please no more Rheinland pirate factions. Rheinland gets whored enough by not only the RP factions, but several out of character pilots that just want to get in there for a fight.

I am afraid I will have to disagree with that. As of late when the RHA sort of started dying out, the RM really had little to worry about. Bundschuh rarely fight (as their RP dictates), the indie Red Hessians have gone AWOL as well (a real shame, the forays into Gamma were brilliant), and.. apart from the odd weird OoRP pirate looking for some PvP and getting schooled after no more than 2 minutes of said PvP, I don't see the RM having much to do. I have been on a few nights before where I just flied around with my trader, and the RM were all sitting at New Berlin for hours at a time most likely bored out of their skins.
If you are concerned with purported whoring of RM: even if there are more pirate factions in Rheinland, it is very unlikely all of the pirate factions of Rheinland will just start converging on New Berlin all of a sudden unless it is planned and the RM are already waiting for them. They all have their areas of attention, with the Red Hessians by far being preoccupied the most with the Omegas and the ever present Corsair threat, the Bundschuh spilling all over (even into Sigma-13) and a possible Unioner faction very likely more concerned with Hamburg, Bering and Hudson than New Berlin. If the RM are bored near New Berlin, they could always do their own raid into pirate territory. Again, aside from that one time in Dresden last week I haven't seen RM in Dresden for quite a while.
Lets not even mention the fact that with the skill level of RM all the pirates would actually need to outnumber you about 3:2 to make the fight fair. I doubt there is one RM above the rank of Recruit I could engage in 1v1 PvP and win.

This topic not being about the RM and what they do though; while the RHA does need revitalising (that is being taken care of), another faction would draw in some more activity as well. Besides, Hamburg is rather empty. Unioners really have a lot of potential and if I wasn't occupied with the Hessians already I would most likely have made a Unioner character by now. At the moment Rheinland is pretty much RM and BU and (if we are lucky) RHA. That's quite subpar if you ask me, and more on the same level as Bretonia if not worse, especially recently.
Case in point: Rheinland really does need more activity not on the part of silent niobium->diamond runners. Some might disagree that this activity should actually come in the form of a new faction, but establishing a new one does add to the variety and will bring in more people as people always like variety. The best part of this is that Rheinland is so good at stopping OoRP behaviour. Here I praise the RM for their great RP and by extension the influence of all the indie militaries in New Berlin as well. A lot of variety coupled with great RP will make the house a really amazing experience.
