Seraph Fleet

The Story

In 802 AS, at the end of the nomad war, the order had suffered heavy losses. Just after the battle of Omicron Major, the order immediately set to wrok rebuilding the base at Toledo. This resulted with the Omicron Major gate being largely unguarded. A you lieutenant, Tomas "Gunslinger" Harris realized the potential for another nomad attack. He set out on a recruiting drive across sirius. He gathered a group of around 200 people from every walk of life, smugglers, miners, former pilots, but with one thing in common; they all suffered from the nomads and were eager to get revenge on them. The next step was to obtain ships for thie "fleet". For a flagship, he obtained a worn out Osiris Battleship which was dubbed "Gemini". He also received ships from the order's new allies, the corsairs. At once, the new gunboats and titan VHFs were distributed. The newly equipped fleet headed for omicron delta, and based itself at Freeport 11, until a suitable base could be constructed. A watch was immediately set on Omicron Major, Iota and 99. IN 819 AS, Tomas was killed in a skirmish with a nomad fleet. In 820AS, his friend and second in command, Thomas Wooley took command and tightened up the watch on the nomad systems. The fleet of aging titans was replaced by newly constructed Nepthys VHFs. The fleet maintains watch on the Omicrons 24/7, acting as a first line of defense in the case of the nomads launching an attack. The fleet was named Seraph fleet, after the name for the mythical protectors of heaven, known as Seraphim.

Ranks Requirement
Fleet CIC* None, leader of alliance
Fleet Command Staff* None, selected by CIC
Fleet Admiral Must be admiral, selected by CIC and command staff
Admiral Promotion is decided on and voted on by The Brass
must be a captain to be eligable.
Captain 8000-inf points
Commander 5000-8000 points
Lieutenant 3000-5000 points
Sub Lieutenant 1500-3000 points
Ensign 200-1500 points
Crewman 0-200 points


*Fleet CIC and Fleet Command Staff are considered "The Brass"
Note: All promoted prior to rank system change keep their current ranks, we are not in the business of demoting people. Demotion will be a punishment reserved for disgracing the alliance or going against decisions made by the brass. Also requirements for ranks crewman through captain are subject to change, pending approval by Command Staff
Exception to demotion Rule: Current Fleet admirals WILL be demoted to the rank of Admiral. Fleet admiral promotions will be decided on by The Brass.


Rank Descriptions

Fleet CIC-May be only one at a time-
Fleet CIC has right to Classify and declassify information. Decisions made by CIC must have full support of Command staff by a majority and Alliance by majority, exceptions to this are things related to that persons empire and Promotions up to the rank of captain. Promotions to Admiral and fleet admiral must be voted on by Command staff and CIC. Has right to kick members from alliance pending vote by Command Staff.
Clearance-Maximum

Fleet Command Staff-May only be four at a time
Command Staff act as the CICs advisors/cabinet. The Brass (CIC and Staff) vote on all decisions. May give promotions and change things about alliance, changes to alliance MUST be voted on by Command staff and ALL members. Includes NAPs, Alliances and Declarations of War.
Clearance-Maximum

Fleet Admiral-Two at a time-
In charge when either Command staff or CIC is not present or available. Has ability to manage alliance, but all "command" rights (ie: disband alliance, Kick members) are suspended. May do things, ONLY with approval from Command. Exception is promotion up to the rank of captain
Clearance-Maximum
Admiral-Limited number, to be decided by Command
In charge when none of the above are present. Same rights as Fleet admiral.
Clearance-Secret
Captain-In charge when one of above are present. May NOT issue promotions, no manage alliance rights.
Clearance-Secret
Commander to Crewman rank have NO clearance and their rights will be decided shortly.

have retooled things a bit, but the story remains the same basic thing.

note also that in the paper version of this i wrote, the backstroy was like to pages long.
note also that this is a request for help to test this concept out and see if it will work, and for somepeople i can consult about this faction, i also posted this for a discussion.
