As the Admiral and her party entered, Simon transferred his attention from James to the new arrivals. He came halfway to attention before remembering they were supposed to be off-duty here. Nodding smartly, he waited until the bartender had taken up his position behind the counter before re-iterating his order.

Turning to the Lieutenant, he took another look at him, as though seeing him for the first time, extended his hand and said, "I say, Lieutenant, I thought you were part of the help. Please, accept my sincerest apologies," then, turning back to the bartender, "Get the lad...what was it you were drinking again?"
