Konbanwa! I am Yuna Uehara and today we're going to talk about success. The success of families, of individual, of entrepreneurs. Kusarians that knew how to raise from the ground, kusarians that achieved great things while keeping their moral integrity. Kusarians whom, by helping themselves, helped our country. It's time for a new series at KTNA! Every Saturday, we will be here with...

"Kusarians For Kusari"

He's young, smart and managed to raise from the ashes. Tekkan Okura, member of the Samura Heavy Industries corporation has a story about success.

Born on a traditional world of Kusari, young Tekkan didn't inherit the wealth of his father, a successful businessman himself. Tradition of the Okura family stated that a child won't inherit any wealth but the wealth of knowledge from his family. Young Tekkan tried to follow his father's footsteps and raised a company from the ground - Okura Trading Company - but he wanted more than just planetside transportation so he tried his luck and expanded his business outside the boundaries of one planet. But in a Kusari dominated by giants like Samura, Kishiro, IC and Renzu a small firm such as OTC couldn't survive and soon, the business was over. Tekkan sold his planetary fleet in order to pay the banks but he kept two interplanetary ships.

With them, he negotiated with Samura and obtained a nice position and a good salary. Somehow, he managed to convince Samura to offer him the necessary authority over his ships and even more. Soon after joining, Tekkan became the administrator of Misaki Station, one of Samura's important production facilities. It is safe to say that this man now controls Sirius' market of multiplexors.

Was that an accurate introduction, Okura-san?

Hai, it was. Thank you for the kind words miss Uehara.

Tell me, please, how was your childhood?

Hard... It was all about work and learning. Little time to play with other children, it was like my father had to prove something by turning me into a better businessman even than he was.

I guess you thank him now for all his work, correct?

No, not at all. I dislike him for what he's done. My entire childhood ruined for his ambitions. Where did that take me? I started my own company using what he taught me. I tried to expand having his teachings in mind and... disaster.

But you did raise again and now you're an important member for one of the most important corporations in Kusari. And all that in a very short period of time.

Yes but this was not something I learned back home. I'm an employee. My family was proud and sometimes stupid about all these traditions. My fast advancement in Samura's ranks has nothing to do with what my family taught me. It's all my doing.

So, tell us, what did you feel when you started to lose your grip over OTC?

To be honest, I'm glad I ended it. Running a company is very stressful and the bureaucracy and corruption is mutilating Kusari's economy.

Wait. Corruption?

Hai. I was asked for bribes in numerous areas in order to accelerate some procedures, legal procedures that would normally take a few days.

And did you bribe anyone?

No. But I did put some people behind bars. Asking for bribes is not really encouraged in Kusari. I did what every citizen should do, call the KSP and they will take over.

Unfortunately time is pressing us so I only have one more question for you. Do you plan to stick with Samura or you want to have another try on your own soon?

I'll stick with Samura. For now I like what I'm doing but Samura has some great projects for the future and I will like to get involved in those.

What projects?

You will have to wait for an official press release from Samura. I'm not allowed to talk about this for now.

Thank you for taking part on our first edition. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen for staying with us. We'll meet again, next Saturday with a new edition of "Kusarians for Kusari". Good night!
