Doc was largely satisfied with what he was reading. She defied the odds and gave birth to three children. Miscarriages weren't uncommon and it was likely due to stress from the death of her husband. Medically, he could find no reason why she still couldn't have more if she so choose. Perhaps when the grieving process settled that someone new would come along.
He softly smiled as he sipped his coffee. Bonding with her children was exactly what she needed.....that and a little doctorly advice. He didn't feel so outclassed after all.
Still, he wanted to know more about her back surgery. That was nothing that a good physical examination wouldn't reveal to him. For now, he continued reviewing what was in front of him before looking out a window. The snow was falling and it was pretty. Doc in a robe, steam coming off of his coffee as he looked through a semi-frosty window was like a painting from an old time past.
