Application Form: Name: James O'Gilvie Age: 35 Character background: Ensign James O'Gilvie joined the crew of the HMS Norfolk where he spent his time learning to be Assistant Tactical Officer, Duty Tactical Officer, and had the dubious privilege of being the junior officer in the Ward Room.
At the end of his tour, he was promoted to Leftenant, and assigned as the Tactical/Gunnery Officer aboard HMS Cyclone, a Churchill class gunboat. A year later, he became Executive Officer.
Another promotion landed James a tour on a battleship, this time HMS MacDuff, as Tactical Officer. Leftenant Commander O'Gilvie served a spirited, but normal tour as the Kusari conflict raged.
Eventually, at the age of 33, O'Gilvie would find himself in command of another Churchill, HMS Typhoon. Unfortunately, the ship would be lost with all other hands while scouting the initial phases of the war with Gallia.
After surgery, and while waiting for the Navy to decide whether he would be staying on, James was put in charge of the Royal Liner, a high honor, but with limited risk of combat. The Navy would eventually decide that his injuries were too severe. This earned him a medical retirement and a pension.
Now confined to a hover chair, James hopes to apply his skills at command to a merchant ship. Motivation for joining Gateway: "I've been a ship's Captain, I will be again. I like a lively outfit, and Gateway looks to be going places. I prefer a bit more order in my life than being a Freelancer." SKYP3 contact protocols: Xavier.Twaddle
