Okay then. Let me tell my side of this story.
You've summarized it pretty well already - the IMG / UC convoy I was escorting was stopped by the officer as usual.
My character started becoming annoyed at what she perceived to be an unnecessarily long scan, though we immediately explained our cargo and destination.
When he then started interrogating the Corse for what seemed like no reason, she got snappy and accused him of unnecessarily making things difficult for the convoy.
Eventually they were allowed to pass, while the officer demanded I pay a fine. Of course I had no intention of doing so, as my character was merely speaking her mind on how the officer was doing his business.
When he then effectively threatened to take her by force, in an escape pod if necessary, to Vierlande, that was too much.
The officer had clearly stated his intentions to attack if she did not comply, and she had clearly stated that she would not.
The engagement was going to happen anyway, but I was going to be the one that had the first shot.
Overreaction on her part? Sure, but that's how this character is.

This is not true at all. Unlike what many people seem to think, there has never been a need for an "engagement notice", only for sufficient roleplay prior to an attack.
And I do believe there was plenty of roleplay prior to this one.
If one party has already declared their intent to attack the other, they do not have to wait to be shot at first. And why would they.
Frankly I think the officer was waaaay out of line to threaten to take a civilian, particularly the president of a major national company, to a notorious prison by force for a mere perceived insult.
If you want to roleplay a police officer being as annoying as possible, fine. That seems to be RFP's style and that's their choice.
But if you take it that far something like this is going to happen.
