Attacking Traders

I don't, however, like the idea of traders only being allowed 5 mins at a base. Logically a trader wouldn't stick his nose out, if he knew people were waiting for him. Would be too dangerous. Doesn't make sense RP wise.

You are all forgetting one *minor* detail - RP-wise transports and trains don't dock to stations, they moor, and pirate theoretically has an option to destroy the whole ship as it's in space. So in fact trader should pay to preserve his/her ship in this case. Of course, flyable ships in Freelancer cannot moor like NPC ships do. Still we should take that into account.

And yes, I have to admit that no one actually follows faction-reputation rules... so house faction members are friendly with pirates, etc. I don't even see a way to improve the situation. Maybe introduce licenses like other mods have, I don't know.

Returning to traders, I don't think that piracy in anything larger than a Gunboat should be allowed (with only exception of Huegenot, as it's a pirate cruiser). Why? well, basically it's stupid that pirates fly Rheinland battleships, for example, or Bretonian ones. I'm not sure of course so other opinions would be welcome.
