err... i have 20 active and over 100 inactive members in the WT. Was an error of scale on my part.
But it got me thinking:

Judging by the number of people who are registered on the disco forums, i estimate we have 30,000 players, with approx 8-10 characters per player, equating to 240,000-300,000 possible characters.

Oh how i wish we could turn off the npcs and have 20,000+ players online at once.

When you fly out in space, the game engine spawns random npc contacts. If this was turned off, we could have a fully player-based game, as the server wouldn't lag out so much when we hit the player limit.

Do that and then find a way to attract more players, i honestly find this game to fills the little hole in my heart for when i need to play online games...i just lag due to server distance and it keeps me from playing as much. But i think a lot of people would like this game, they just havent been introduced to it.
