Salvager and Raba regen counts: too high?

So you are saying that anyone who gets shot down in a salvager is dumb?

It's very easy to not die in a Salvager, believe me. You either stand your ground and fight with turret zoom, or you can just make for a base as long as it's 20k-30k away.

How does Junkers getting shot down in Kusari invalidate the argument?

Because the amount of bases you can dock on decreases greatly. Furthermore GC and Blood Dragon bases are placed in inconvenient locations that are hard to reach from the lanes or open space.

I remember a specific situation where a convoy of salvagers was shot down within 40k of an NPC GC battleship where they had docking rights. It didn't stop two BDS ships from shredding them.

Well it's 40 kilometers. A salvager taking constant fire can't survive that distance. What were the BDS ships flying? Did the Salvagers even regen? Did they have armour? There's hard, irrefutable statistics that disagree with your opinion.

They've also been shot down within range of Yanagi when there used to be a Yanagi. I remember actually being disappointed with the salvager when it was first introduced.

A large load of patches ago, it did actually get a regen and thrust speed buff.

Like any ship, you just have to know how to fly it. It is quite vulnerable to someone who actually wants to take the time to hunt. I've been saying for years that the best defense for a salvager is not to be seen.

If you don't know how to fly the Salvager, then of course you're probably going to die because I'd imagine that individual wouldn't know where the regen button is located or knows how to turret steer. If you do know how to fly the Salvager, like I or JM do, then you can easily avoid danger.

If you aggressor managed to separate you more than 35k from the nearest base however, then good on him. The only real way to kill a Salvager is if you ensure it's not ~30k away from the nearest base.

Tell that to the countless XA pilots who have downed salvagers in the Jersey debris field.

I'm in XA myself and most of the Salvagers I kill tend to forget to regen, or are regenless and armourless. The ones I don't kill are the smart ones who know how to turret steer and who also know that they can survive a 20k-30k distance.
