Right! So I've been pondering ore some more, and Uranium alone isn't quite going to cut it. I'm really happy to see a resurgent PFI faction, and Poole is where the action's at. Or rather, it isn't, because despite being a hub of PFI bases (and a mining operation) there's no reason to go there.
Currently, Fluorine Gas is just your average commodity with no real draw to it. It's basically Iridium - a standard commodity that can be mined, but there's literally no point to doing so because you can buy it dirt cheap from the station next door. It's got exactly the same profit margins as any other commodity, so why would anyone go through the hassle of detouring from their standard route to go and pick it up?
There's been a scandalously wasted opportunity here, one that could benefit Planetform immensely.
1) Remove Florine as a commodity from Methyr-Tydfill Mining Station. Replace it with Terraforming Gases or something, I don't really care. Or just a non-ore variant, I dunno. Bit like Aluminium/Aluminium Ore.
2) Give Fluorine ore status, and provide Planetform with exclusive 4.0 mining bonuses on the standard array of ships, including the Clydesdale (same as BMM).
3) Add low sellpoints to Douglas Station in Bretonia. Add medium sellpoints to Planet Harris and California Minor. Add high sellpoints to Cold Bay Depot and Planet Miura. Sorted.
