This is my first report being submitted as one of the Watch, and it fills me with pride to be able to take my place among you.
Right..... onto the report at hand. After a routine patrol from Torshavn, I picked up a signiture on scanners. Moving to intercept, I had a DSE camera piloted by a freelancer. Stopping it in it's track, I scanned it's cargo... prisoners!
I couldn't bring myself to destroy the vessel knowing that there were, well from my point of view, innocents on board. He complied with my demand to transfer his cargo. However, the pilot.... known as Stefan, explained his situation as a freelancer looking for some work, and his troubles in doing so.
A thought occurred to me.... which spun itself into a web of thought until I was sure it had to be tried. I offered him a job: bring Black Market Munitions to the Dublin system, and I would pay him £4000 a unit. He gets his kickstart fund, I get the munitions we so desperately need for trading with the Corsairs. With a stern warning not to get caught, and I threat that if he fails and gives up the plan to any authorities I'd hunt him down, he was on his way.
Thirty minutes later, lo-and-behold, the Freelancer shows up: with more cargo than expected to boot! Paying the freelancer, the crew of the Blacktide brought the crates aboard... seems the offer paid off. Leaving secure comms details with the captain, and wishing him well for business in the future.... the trip to Omicron Gamma was safe and uneventful. Saying that, Mildra was on long range comms, and it was good to catch up following the days events. I'll leave her events for her own report.
With profit in the bank, and a pilot for a new scheme completed, I returned to Torshavn upbeat and looking forward to future dealings. Perhaps it is through economic guile I can play my part in strengthening the watch and defending Gaia...
